Reports are leaking in regarding O.J. Simpson's visit to NecroComicon, the horror convention in Los Angeles which was held last weekend. As reported on sites such as Mark Evanier's POV Online, the whole thing was kind of a bust, with media types outnumbering O.J. fans about 10-to-1. Evidently they stuck O.J. in small room at the top of a flight of stairs, and only a couple dozen people bothered to climb up and have him sign stuff at $90 a pop. But at least it went better than his previous convention appearance. Oh, and there was also this, from Cinematical, which we find awesome:

"O.J. signed shirts, hats and footballs at a table set up next to a promotional display for a splatter movie, a haunted house and such decorations as severed heads and limbs."

Interesting to note that some scheduled guests, including actor Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Bay City Blues) evidently boycotted. McCarthy had been listed as a NecroComicon attendee, but at the last minute switched to the Hollywood Collector's Show, which was being held at the same time at the Burbank Hilton. The convention also took place around the 10-year anniversary of O.J.'s acquittal of murder charges, which, of course, was why he was at NecroComicon in the first place.
