Scheduling a Huge Sunday In Sports
Apparently the e-Cameron Crazies are not handling the loss very well over at the Duke Basketball Forums. Perhaps one day they will recover. Fortunately the rest of us are ready to move on, and we have an amazing day of sports waiting for us. Continue after the jump for a full breakdown of the day's events.
Premier League- Basketball has an early start today, but the soccer gets underway first with the biggest match day to date this season. Manchester is battling the Liverpudlians while my Blues welcome Arsenal back to Stamford Bridge at noon eastern. I'll be back from a lil' brunch just in time to watch that one while the basketball rolls on my computer. And yes, Hirshey and I have a friendly wager on the match. Loser has to inject himself with a needle I found in the alley.
March Madness- Siena and Villanova kick off the day all by themselves at 12:10 in a match-up that I actually picked in my (horrible horrible) bracket. The second slate offers four games starting between 2:15 and 2:50 including Miami/Texas, Butler/Tennessee, Davidson/Georgetown, and WKU/San Diego. Anybody saying they picked that one is full of shit, or worthy of being worshiped to some extent. Three more games tip off between 4:45 and 5:15, and all be here throughout.
Golf!- Tiger's bid for yet another consecutive victory was put on hold by some rain yesterday afternoon, but they're back out on the course now. Once the third round is wrapped up Tiger will freshen up, don the red and black, and likely charge back to kick everyone's ass. That's just how he rolls. He currently sits three strokes back of Geoff Ogilvy with five holes left to play in his third round.
NBA- Another one of those battle of Texas things is going down at 1 pm between a Spurs team that's playing like crap (!) and a Mavs team that can't beat anybody worth a damn since the Kidd trade. Later in the afternoon Toronto faces off against Denver in a game loaded with playoff implications and whatnot.
