Not To Be Outdone, A.J. Pierzynski Would Like You To Know That The White Sox Occasionally Drink "Rally Beer" During Games

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, everyone's favorite bleached-blond gnat (and World Series broadcaster), apparently wanted to stick up for the Red Sox players, bullied by the owners and the . So he went on The Dan Patrick Show and told everyone the White Sox occasionally drink in the clubhouse. Rally beer, you see.

Per the Chicago Tribune:

"Yes, absolutely I have before," Pierzynski told The Dan Patrick Show. "Sometimes you're just really struggling and you just say, ‘Hey, you know what, I need something to calm me down and let's have a beer.' A couple of us will do it together, and sometimes it works out.

"It's just, sometimes you just need a rally beer. If you're in extra innings and you're in about the 15th inning and you really need to get going again, that sometimes works for you."

I mean, sure, why not? Although the Globe only accused the Sox's starters of drinking on their off-days. Then again, if off-day drinking drags a team to 90-72, perhaps in-game drinking could push them all the way to 79-83. Or maybe it's totally irrelevant! You pick.
