Mike Iupati Leaves Field In Ambulance After Taking Hit To The Head [UPDATES]
Tonight’s Sunday Night Football game on NBC came to a terrible halt tonight as Arizona’s three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Mike Iupati left the field in an ambulance after taking a hit to the head during a routine blocking play.
Iupati’s neck appears to compress upon making the helmet-to-helmet contact. We’ll update as NBC or the NFL provides updates on his status; the injury came in the same game Ricardo Lockette returned for to hype up the crowd two weeks after his own horrifying neck injury.
Update (12:10 a.m.): NBC’s Michele Tafoya reported Iupati has been released from the hospital and will travel back to Phoenix with the team.
