Favre Fatigue: One of the Few Things You and Roger Goodell Have in Common
Good morning to one and all! Before we get started today, a quick announcement: Please send all of your tips to the following email addy: [email protected]. Thanks for your cooperation, and now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...
The Brett Favre saga has gone on for so long now, that it actually causes physical pain to hear mention of his name. If NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has his way, though, the beginning of the end to the nauseating Favre-Packers standoff will mercifully start early next week. On Monday, the iron-fisted commish expects the two parties to make up their damn minds already.
The sources said Goodell feels the situation has gone on long enough and wants both sides to have an incentive to make a decision. One of the sources said no final money figures have been hammered out. "Both parties are talking, the Green Bay Packers and Brett," Goodell said in an interview with the NFL Network on Saturday. "And I think the discussions are moving ahead. I would hope that we would have something resolved by Monday."
Pro Football Talk did hear the NFL Network's well-coiffed Adam Schefter say the following, though: "Schefter points out that the decision isn’t final, and that it could change and has changed already. As of right now, however, Favre’s inclination is to take the money and not run. Or throw." In Favre-speak, as we know all too well, it doesn't sound like we're that much closer to a resolution here. Which is just outstanding. Goodell likely to act on Favre reinstatement by Monday [ESPN] Favre to take the money [Pro Football Talk]
