It’s not technically October yet, but postseason baseball is here. With games running all day long, it’s the perfect opportunity to find value early in the playoffs. Here are three of the best betting spots to open up postseason play.

Tarik Skubal 8+ K’s and Gavin Williams 6+ K’s (+212)

Cleveland and Detroit have already faced each other six times over the past two weeks, and now they meet again. Both offenses have struggled, which opens the door for strong pitching performances.

In their last two outings against one another, Tarik Skubal is averaging 8.5 strikeouts, while Gavin Williams is averaging 10.5. Williams’ line of 6+ strikeouts (-130) looks especially appealing given his second-half form. With two of the weakest lineups in recent play, these strikeout props feel undervalued.

San Diego Padres to Advance (+105)

The Chicago Cubs’ rotation is collapsing at the worst possible time. With Cade Horton sidelined until at least the NLDS, Chicago is forced to rely on Matthew Boyd, Shota Imanaga, and Jameson Taillon.

Their September numbers tell the story:

  • Boyd: 5.31 ERA
  • Imanaga: 6.51 ERA
  • Taillon: 1.54 ERA

While Boyd has postseason success in his past, Imanaga has looked shaky, and only Taillon has shown real consistency down the stretch. Meanwhile, the Padres have a history of stepping up when October rolls around. This is more than just a vibes pick — San Diego has the postseason pedigree to deliver here.

Shohei Ohtani, Giancarlo Stanton, and José Ramírez to Hit 1+ HR in Series (+620)

This one is simple: take three of baseball’s biggest sluggers and bet on each to hit at least one home run.

Shohei Ohtani and José Ramírez have had mixed postseason careers but are always capable of delivering big swings.

Giancarlo Stanton has been a notorious playoff riser, consistently producing long balls in October.

At +620, this bet offers tremendous value for three proven power hitters who are likely to see at least three games in their series.
