Ah, White People

Remember that post from earlier today, about the sports bra Bounce-O-Meter? This is the opposite of that post.

Two Kentucky fans — one of whom runs this blog — inspired by that SNL "Lazy Sunday" video, have produced "Lazy Tuesday," an "video" in honor of their beloved Kentucky Wildcats. It is, uh, well, we'll just let you watch it below.

We tried to get into the mind of the type of person who would produce this, so we check out the guy's site. Aw ... he's a Cardinals fan. Figures. Crap.

But yeah: Here's your little Wednesday goodie. You're welcome.

The guys over at Lonely Island have nothing to worry about...this is no lazy sunday

  • Are all people from kentucky inbred?

  • My eyes. My eyes are bleeding. My ears are bleading. Shoot me. Please somebody put me out of my misery.

  • Unsilent Majority at 04:43 PM on 03/01/06

To clarify: Lazy Sunday is to Lazy Tuesday as Kevin Grevey is to Saul Smith (I couldn't think of anything lower than Saul)

  • This is sadder than the Kevin Garnett commercial. Lazy Sunday was comedic lightning in a bottle. This isn't even a fart in a jar.

  • That's legitimately painful to watch. I like how they are reading their "rap." Also, not quite sure what's up with the solo horn as the beat.

  • Eminem would be proud.

  • Hercules McAwesome at 05:11 PM on 03/01/06

I don't really know what to say here. I am not sure if this was done as a "special" project for UK's "Everything's Not Unpossible!" outreach program, so I don't want to rip it before I know all the facts. It does, however, make me sad that we have great young American men fighting for Halliburton overseas, while other young men are doing...this, and no one's shooting at them. The world is funny that way, I guess. By the way, Will, I think your headline on this is off. This isn't an indictment of white people trying to rap. I doubt these two have ever seen a rap video or heard a rap song when this strange bird was hatched. After all, there were no rhymes, even when they were "rapping" off of cheat sheets.

  • That was bad on purpose, right? Like, that was intentionally designed to be the dumbest thing that ever existed, right? I don't know what I liked more - the fact that nothing rhymed, the fact that they didn't stay on beat, or that the quick cuts sometimes obscured the beginnings and ends of their lines. Some things are so bad, they're good. This is so bad, it's terrible.

  • I have new-found respect for Lil' Ronnie.

  • Yeah. You're probably right, Hercules. Being white appears to be the least of the problems here.

  • I think I actually saw these guys at the IU-UK game earlier this year. Kidding - but the fact that these guys show any sort of cognitive emotional ability is way - WAY - above the curve of Big Blue Nation.

  • It was feeble ... and annoying. That's when Adam and Parns shout together, "Double true!"

  • Luckless Pedestrian at 05:26 PM on 03/01/06

If it wasn't called "Lazy Tuesday" you wouldn't even connect it to Lazy Sunday -- a truly hilarious video. It's so bad it doesn't even work as a mean-spirited look-how-dumb-us-UK-fans-are bit done by Louisville fans. It makes not just Kentucky but all adjacent states look like a bunch of idiots. Boobies, where'd the boobies go? Quick!

  • Critical Fanatic at 05:45 PM on 03/01/06

Welcome to Kentucky Sign crossing over from the 'Nati reads: "Kentucky ... where education pays" sure.

  • There's probably some sort of rights issue at stake here. The "rap" is terrible but I too checked out their site and they're kinda pissed that it's on your site. Keeping it in proportion, SNL is far worse: one good sketch on network TV doesn't make up for the rest of their material being dire each and every week. At least no one was paying these kids...I hope.

  • Also, judging by the guy's comments on his blog, he does not have a sense of humor about this at all. Chill out, bro.

  • This has to be payback for Glory Road. No mas.

  • Unsilent Majority at 06:11 PM on 03/01/06

"It makes not just Kentucky but all adjacent states look like a bunch of idiots." ...if the shoe fits...

  • LEACH LEACH LEACH LEACH

  • Actually, I just took the video from YouTube, which encourages free use. (This is why YouTube is awesome.) I'm not the one who loaded it up there; if you wanted, you could put this video on your site too. The issue is with whoever loaded it onto YouTube ... which is not us.

  • This video is an abomination of, not just white people, but the whole human race. It is sweet though, that the two biggest losers in Kentucky....no on Earth, were able to meet and collaborate on something this painfully unfunny.

  • I'm surprised no one has commented on the sick imitation dunk and Iversonesque crossover these two pulled off. AI vs. Kentucky yokel? hmmm

  • Wow. Doesn't it seem like these guys were forced at gunpoint to make this video. They've got no enthusiasm at all. I went straight from the Greinke interview to this and I can feel the Draino kicking in right about now. Goodnight, g

  • If they were doing this to meet girls, they've got a lot of cold and lonely nights ahead of them. Then again, if they were doing this to meet guys, they've got a lot of cold and lonely nights ahead of them...

  • Frank Pentangeli at 07:12 PM on 03/01/06

    This is some awesome stuff

  • My favorite part is when they hit the word "either" together, but can't seem to agree on how to pronounce it. Don't think for a second that we won't be seeing the work of cameraman Paul Myers again soon. That kid's got something.

  • This seems to be the exact kind of thing you would get from a blog that by it's own description focuses on the following topics: --The Kentucky Democrat-- "Taking a serious look at: Kentucky Politics, Entertainment News, and those national issues that are really turned into wedge issues...not to mention the St. Louis Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats" Move over Tonya Harding fan fantasy, I've got a new page I need to bookmark.

  • Now remember everyone, the brains behind the video endorses Chuck Pennacchio for PA Senate. I wonder if Chuck knew about this endorsement he would say, "yeah, thanks but no thanks".

  • I love how you can tell the one guy was totally in to it and the other guy probably got dragged in - but it was the other guy ended up being much better.

  • I'll be honest here: I was involved in a few stunts with a video camera back when I was in college too. But I'd be willing to bet that an outsider - shown our video - would if not be mildly amused, at least recognize why WE found it funny. I am hardly surprised the auteur behind this video reacted as he did on his blog. It's clear he is comically challenged.

  • Unsilent Majority at 09:08 PM on 03/01/06

"but it was the other guy ended up being much better." which was the good one? this never would have happened if Adolph "fourth reich" Rupp was still in charge

  • I couldn't do it. I could barely sit through 10 seconds. Is Will mad at us? Why is Will mad at us?

  • Props to this cat for responding to these comments on his blog. No such thing as bad publicity, bro. Enjoy your fifteen minutes.

  • OK -- I ate right, trained hard and I still almost didn't make it through this video. Imagine my surprise during the credits to find out that Daniel S. and Bud S. were the stars, but Daniel S. and Keith C. wrote the lyrics. WTF Bud S.? How bad were your lyrics that you had to use Keith C.'s! Or was Keith C. just not photogenic enough for this endeavor?

  • Unsilent Majority: This is the definitive Fourth Reich Rap Hitler Rap

  • Where'd the freakin' video go?

  • Nevermind; I found it. I might be more retarded than those guys.

  • true confessions: I made it slightly less than halfway, and then decided I would actually rather watch American Idol. dear god, LOOK WHAT THEY HAVE DRIVEN ME TO!!!!!

  • PS: Am I the only one who thinks those guys would get along really well with the Boom! Goes the Dynamite dude?

  • Wow, wow, wow. I just read his responses on the blog and apparently, not only does the dude have no sense of humor, he's quite possibly anti-Semitic. That's awesome. Humorless anti-Semites are my favorite kind of anti-Semites. Also, I wonder if the kids are aware that they can record the audio and video separately and mix them together on this thing called the "computer".

  • Okay, nevermind, the guy's apparently Jewish himself. Me no read good. It's a shame because I really do like anti-Semites.

  • I'm just posting because I want this dude to mention me on his blog. He's hitting everyone else. Hi, me!

  • Unsilent Majority at 09:11 AM on 03/02/06

"What I find ironic is I just did a presentation on the park yesterday for a class. You can rest assured that I did not rap that one out." not only can he not rap, he can't even differentiate between coincidence and irony.

  • I'm thinking this blog entry has broken the record number of comments. 45? Holy smoke. It's a testament to how bad this rap really is.

  • "Lazy Tuesday feat. T-Pizzle (Remix)" Hey, it could happen...

  • A fine point, Slickbomb. These Rapping Hillbillies pulled off 45+ comments. Some amazing happenings have passed through these Deadspin pages...Lil Ronnie, Drunken Kyle Orton, Drunken Big Ben, Tanya Harding Fantasy Pages, John Rocker's Match.com page...and none of them have captured the hearts and minds of Deadspin readers like these inbred Kentucky retards. Kudos to you, you Bluegrass Bumpkins.

  • Unsilent Majority at 10:18 AM on 03/02/06

    only in your head skeets

  • Good, I'd like to thank the powers that be to be given the opportunity to reply in kind. I am not retarded. I have good grades. I'm no hillbilly, you're confusing you parts of KY. It's all in good fun. Will, you messed up the html up there. But I ask that if you watch it, watch it at http://revver.com/video/15541/5590, the only place where I uploaded it. I've replied to every comment at my blog so far.

  • The least they could have done was learn the freakin' words and not read out of their Psych 101 notebooks.

  • Whatever you say, Jethro.

  • Hercules McAwesome, it is indeed a tragedy. Whitsit: I think these guys would get along even better with THERMITE. Skeets: In the name of all that is holy, please stay away from this video. Nothing must be allowed to interfere with your art. Daniel: that lazymuncie.com thing IS funny.

  • ooh! I found my comment! let's see... "whittlz - I am sorry that you were forced into watching American Idol. I wish you could have watched some sports." aw, that's sweet! thanks. I was watching sports earlier-- screaming at PJ Tucker to SHOOT THE FUCKING BALL-- but I live on the west coast at the moment and eventually the sports just run out. it's the saddest damn thing ever. ANYhoo.

  • Madman - I don't take psychology. Koogz - I'm not Jethro... Farlane - Lazy Muncie is one of the best responses I have seen so far. Heck, they got Jim Davis to get in on it!

  • 54 comments and not a single Cletus reference? For shame, people, for shame.

  • Unsilent Majority at 02:49 PM on 03/02/06

Some folk'll never eat a skunk but then again some folk'll, like Cletus the slack jawed yokel. ...and SCENE!

  • Will, make sure I acknowledge you all in my autobiography. I am being interviewed on the radio tonight.

  • Did you hear that radio interview? It reminded me how amusing it was to read all those comments on YouTube from those taking it far seriously than was appropriate. Additionally, I think the other entry's in the Narnia Rap Battle (www.narniarapbattle.com) were mentioned. But specifically, Lazy River: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rrVicGALKd0 Yes it is my video and I may invite similar death threats, but hey it gives everyone something to do for fifteen minutes.

  • I think Will will need to just link this from the frontpage due to the internet phenomenon that it has become.

  • Daniel, how much of this did you actually memorize before you started filming? I just noticed (I've seen this video like 20 times, I love it) that you've got a cheat sheet under the table on "Don't root for UNC either". I mean, that's...amazing. Makes me want to be pro-abortion, almost.

  • All but the second stanza was memorized. We had two takes for the last verse.

  • LOLYOU'RESTILLREADINGTHECOMMENTSSECTION

  • yes, cliff, i am--because i keep getting hits from the blog

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSNHWfvwCZw is the new youtube link for all who care...

  • From: KISSMESUZY.BLOGSPOT.COM: TRACKBACK at 12:33 AM on 01/30/08

Say what you will about those Lazy Tuesday goofs, but at least they didn't work too hard at looking ridicuwockle. These guys, on the other hand, seem to gone through Herculean efforts to look achingly dopey. I hope these dancers got paid.
