It might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NBA and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom s Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NBA team. Today: The Washington Wizards.

The Washington Wizards gave gone through more name changes than Sean Combs. They started as the Chicago Packers in 1961, then became the Chicago Zephyrs. Then they moved to Baltimore in 1973 and became the Baltimore Bullets — and then moved to Landover to become the Capital Bullets the following season. They weren't through, of course. They changed their name to the Washington Bullets and decided to play a few of their games each season in Baltimore. In 1978, behind Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld, they gave Washington D.C. its first sports championship in 36 years. Of course there was one more name change — due to the high violent crime rate in our nation's capital, they changed their logo and became the Washington Wizards (the No. 2 choice was Sea Dogs) in 1997. Whew. As to how they're doing now, let's check in with the blogs.
